Neal Watson, owner of Neal Watson's Undersea Adventures began diving in the Florida Springs in 1953 at the age of 13 and has been in the diving business for over 50 years. Over the years Neal has worked as a commercial diver, treasure salvor, stunt coordinator for the movie and TV industry, owned and operated hotels, a airline charter company and established a chain of Neal Watson's Undersea Adventures franchise dive operation in the Bahamas and Caribbean.
Neal's achievements are legendary. Neal holds several World Records, including the compressed air diving depth record where he descended to 437 feet (133 meters). He recorded another milestone by swimming 66 miles (106 Kilometers) underwater non-stop without surfacing in 19½ hours from the Florida Keys to Miami.
Neal has worked in numerous major motion pictures and appeared in television shows including 20/20, Inside Edition and the Today Show. Neal has worked with numerous celebrities and movie stars and has also been featured in countless magazine and newspaper articles including People Magazine and Outside Magazine for his world records and exploits in shark diving. For 13 years Neal annually produced Ocean Fest, the only seaside consumer dive show in the United States.
Neal has received numerous awards and has been inducted into the "Fort Lauderdale Sports Hall of Fame", has received the Dive Equipment and Marketing Association (DEMA) Diving Hall of Fame award and recently was inducted into the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame in Cayman Islands.
For the past 20 years Neal has served as President of the Bahamas Diving Association and served three terms as a Dive Equipment Marketing Association (DEMA) Board of Directors and currently serves on the Trade Show Committee for DEMA.
Currently Neal works with his son Neal Jr operating Neal Watson's Bimini Scuba Center located at the Bimini Big Game Club in Bimini, Bahamas. Neal as well as his son is still involved heavily in working with the TV and movie industry and recently filmed a segment for the upcoming Shark Week with Michael Phelps.
